Welcome to the brand new Symphony of Voices website.

Mission Statement:

"Our objective is to spread the light that resides within us by sharing encouraging and uplifting messages with everyone around the world. By using music to convey the "Good News"—the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ—we will fulfill our mission. We believe that music is the universal language and that no other medicine or therapy can compare to the healing it offers to men's souls. We further believe that when the power of decent, wholesome, edifying music influences people's lives, those same people's lives can be transformed."

Disclamer:

The Symphony of Voices website aspires to be an interreligious, nondenominational, multicultural, and multilingual platform. We extend an invitation to musicians from all over the world to share their God-given musical gifts to enlighten and inspire others. We shall uphold the strict requirement that all music posted on the website be appropriate for the entire family, from the youngest to the oldest member, with no exception. Any music deemed to be in violation of the set guidelines will not be permitted on the website.

The Powerful Influence of Music

It has often been stated that music speaks to anyone and everyone. It's not necessary to always be able to understand the lyrics of music to appreciate it. Without the need for a translator, a listener can understand a song's message thanks to the ability of music to transcend linguistic barriers.

Music is therapeutic; it acts as a healing balm for the spirit. Often, music may convey feelings and emotions much more effectively than a sea of words ever could. For instance, music has a unique ability to bring about a sense of calmness, peace, and serenity when one is burdened with the troubles of the world.

This is best explained in the TEDx lecture below by Evan Jasica.

What the Symphony of Voices Website Offers Our Audience

This website is a companion to the Symphony of Voices Facebook group.  Please return often, let your loved ones know about the website, and please consider joining the Symphony of Voices Facebook group.

We are LGBTQ+ friendly and fully support same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage. The webmaster, Keith Lionel Brown, is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, identifying as gay (He/Him/His), He published his coming out story titled "Wearing the Mask of the False Bravado" online during Pride Month 2022. You can read his story by going here.

Therefore, we want to give a shout out to our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters whose music has a major impact on the world. LGBTQ+ music is music that focuses on the experiences of gender and sexual minorities as a product of the broad gay liberation movement. Thus, LGBTQ+ music spans the entire spectrum of popular music. To that end, we have also included an LGBTQ+ Music Notes section, and warmly invite our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters to be an active part of the Symphony of Voices community by sharing their musical talents with us. Watch the video below to learn about the influence that LGBTQ+ classical composers have had on the music world.

In addition, on this website you will find some of the latest LDS Music Videos. A Blog section has been added to share articles about various music artists, as well as articles of general interest about music. You will also find a section for Christian Music videos by music artists of various faiths. There is also a Featured Artist section. An Audio Files section is available for you to listen to and download MP3 files that have been shared by various music artists. In the Lyrics & More section, you will find song lyrics that have been shared by different music artists, as well as the accompanying sheet music if it is available. You can also download a copy of the lyrics and sheet music. There is also a Playlist section with many ready-made playlists by music artists that you can enjoy listening to.

Two new sections have recently been added — The Yesteryear Music Memories section contains music videos by music artists who made the music of yesteryear popular, and the Musical Wisdom Notes section contains quotes about music and its powerful influence on our lives.

In addition, you can now actively participate in the Symphony of Voices community by submitting your MP3 audio files and music videos for everyone to enjoy. Please note: You do not need to be a Latter-day Saint (LDS) to share your music with us. We want to share music created by artists from various age groups, cultures, and ideologies. Please visit the Submit Your Music page for more information and procedures if you are interested in sharing your music.

We will occasionally introduce music artists who are not LDS, but we think you'll love their music. Please enjoy the performances of Darren Espanto, The Melisizwe Brothers, The REO Brothers, Alexander James Rodriguez, Ky Baldwin, and Oscar Stembridge in the videos below, for instance. In the Recommended Music Artists section, you can find more musicians who we recommend.
